Autumn Bookings In Hungary Already Up Over 40%
Reservations at commercial accommodations this autumn are up 42% compared to a year ago, booking site Szallas.hu found in a survey.

The spa towns Eger, Hévíz and Gyula - pictured above -  are popular among holiday-goers for the upcoming four-day weekend leading up to All Saints’ Day, November 1.

By August 30, domestic bookings were 42% higher than a year earlier, lifting gross room rates by 76%.

Room rates are averaging near Ft 11,200 per guest night in the autumn months, up 10% from a year ago.

Reservation rates provide ground for optimism, said Szallas.hu spokeswoman Lili Kelemen, adding that the outlook is clouded by changes in energy prices and rising inflation.
