Fidesz Towns Favoured By Hungarian State Gas Firm
State energy trader MVM Next will deliver natural gas to Debrecen in 2023 at a much lower price than charged to cities not led by a Fidesz mayor, Napi reports.

The result of the public procurement was announced in the EU public procurement gazette by the city management company.

The price per cubic metre is Ft 798, not much more than the residential market price of gas at Ft 747, under the contract concluded on October 1.

Napi writes, citing the public procurement gazette, that MVM Next offered gas to Szentendre, which is not led by Fidesz, at 17.5 times the price of last year, raising its fee to Ft 1,801 per cubic metre instead of Ft 103. When the town did not accept this, MVM Next offered a price of Ft 2,644.

A few days ago, Napi also wrote that MVM Next can supply natural gas to the Constitutional Court at Ft 1,276 per cubic metre.

Other opposition-led towns are also complaining about unaffordable energy prices and the outlandish offers from service providers.
