Blaha Lujza Tér in Budapest Reopened
Trees, tiny sculptures and benches reminiscent of the National Theatre that once stood on the site are features of the new Blaha Lujza tér, which was reopened on Saturday.

The paving is finished with altogether 89 trees on the square and public toilets.

At Friday’s inauguration event, Budapest mayor Gergely Karácsony said that, despite the rain, it was a beautiful day because the renovation of the square had been long overdue.

A park has been created in the middle of the city, which will be striking in the spring, he added.
