Watch: Dust Storm Leads to Mass M1 Motorway Pile-Up In Hungary
A mass traffic accident involving 42 vehicles occurred near Herceghalom on the M1 motorway in poor visibility due to a dust storm at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

On person was killed, a 44-year-oild man whose body was found under a burnt-out car during the rescue operation.

A further 39 people were injured, two critically, 12 severely and 25 others lightly. The injured include ten children.

The injured were driven to hospitals in Győr, Budapest, Tatabánya and Székesfehérvár.

Motorway managing company Magyar Concessziós Infrastructure Fejlesztó said local dust may have blown causing the accident suddenly, lowering the visibility conditions.
