Free Festival: Celebrate Reopening of Budapest’s Chain Bridge
On 16 September, live music, children’s games and a historical exhibition all form part of a free festival to mark the full reopening of the Chain Bridge. The occasion also coincides with the 150th anniversary of the union of Buda, Pest and Óbuda in 1873.

The event starts with family-friendly activities and the heritage display from 11am on the Pest embankment. These run until 6pm, when a DJ starts up, Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony gives a short presentation and, from 7.30pm, Hungarian acts such as Beck Zoli and Péterfy Bori appear.

“The Chain Bridge is everyone’s favourite symbol of Budapest… Now that it has been beautified and renewed, we want to celebrate it in a worthy manner. We hope that through Budapest-themed songs and performances by popular artists, we can provide a quality and enjoyable evening…” said Csaba Faix, CEO of Budapest Brand.

Further details and the complete programme can be found on the Chain Bridge Festival Facebook event page
