IKEA Initiative Aims to Reduce Time at Checkouts in Budapest Stores
IKEA has introduced the “Scan and Buy” service in all three of its Budapest stores in August, allowing shoppers to scan the items in their shopping carts on their mobile phones using the IKEA app, the company announced.

The retailer expects that the new app will significantly reduce the time spent at the checkout.

The first step by shoppers is to scan the selected products, then place them in a specially designed shopping bag or basket, and then to pay without unpacking the products by scanning the QR code in the IKEA app.
