Plan Revealed to Entrust National Assets to Companies: Richter & OTP Interested in Managing Mansions & Castles in Hungary
Both Richter and OTP told ATV that they would be willing to participate in a proposed government scheme to improve the condition of state-owned castles and mansions by entrusting such buildings to the care of large companies.

The bill, filed by Construction and Transport Minister János Lázár and approved by Parliament, is currently awaiting a review by the Constitutional Court, as President Katalin Novák did not sign it into law but sent it for judicial review.

Richter said it had received an inquiry regarding the idea, and that preliminary discussions were held about it, adding “We are committed to protecting Hungary’s cultural heritage and built heritage, so we have given the issue serious consideration.”

OTP declared that it is open to negotiations on the matter, “if we can contribute to the maintenance of national assets in a way that does not entail a significant burden for OTP Bank”.
