As Hungary prepares to commemorate the 1848 Revolution this March 15, the political landscape is particularly charged. Péter Magyar’s TISZA party, currently the country’s leading opposition force, has called for a massive "National March" through the heart of Budapest.

Prosecutors have proposed a fine against the organiser after the event went ahead despite an official police ban and a Supreme Court ruling upholding that decision.
