Opposition Jobbik deputy leader Balazs Ander said on Monday that he had recently submitted a parliamentary resolution proposal aimed at tightening penalties for pedophile crimes and strengthening the child protection system.
Laszlo Varju, MP of the opposition Democratic Coalition (DK), said in parliament on Tuesday that "a well-organised and politically connected paedophile network supported by state officials has embedded itself in the central child protection system."
The European Union should not give a single penny to Hungary or Viktor Orban's government until the Orban government releases the domestic and EU funds owed to Hodmezovasarhely, said Peter Marki-Zay, mayor of Hodmezovasarhely, in Brussels.
