As a result, the authority ordered the immediate closure of these establishments. However, follow-up inspections revealed that some restaurants had fulfilled their legal obligations, allowing them to resume operations.

Based on findings from the past few weeks, NKFH has ordered a nationwide investigation into fast-food restaurants specializing in East Asian cuisine, the authority announced.

During inspections, officials encountered similar food safety and hygiene issues.

The overall sanitary conditions in the examined restaurants were found to be significantly below standard: kitchen areas and cooking spaces were badly contaminated, floors were covered with dirty cardboard, and wall coverings were damaged in multiple places, making them difficult to clean.

Refrigerated and deep-freeze storage areas were dirty and covered in ice buildup, while storage drawers were broken and poorly maintained.

NKFH inspectors discovered thick layers of grime on kitchen shelves, utensils, and storage containers.

Grease buildup was also found on ceilings and light fixtures, indicating a long-term lack of proper cleaning. Additionally, handwashing stations were often non-functional, with many lacking running water altogether.

According to the authority, follow-up inspections have shown that the vast majority of affected restaurants have recognized the importance of complying with regulations. By implementing the necessary measures, they have ensured that their operations now meet food safety and hygiene standards.

As a result, these establishments have been allowed to reopen and are now operating in compliance with the law.
