Police Uncover High-Risk Drugs Lab in Downtown Budapest Apartment
- 18 Jun 2025 6:51 AM

Patrol officers of the 7th district police went to an apartment building in Erzsebetvaros to respond to a call from a member of the public concerning a pungent smell from one of the first-floor apartments, according to the statement.
Police seized equipment and compounds used to produce the drugs alongside around 150 doses of amphetamine, 90 doses of marijuana, other suspected drug substances, and close to 4 million forints.
The apartment's owner has been questioned and detained on suspicion of possession of drugs and the crime of endangering the public.
Police are in the process of determining whether the 45-year-old man only consumed the drugs or traded them too. Some were blended in a way that could imperil the life of potential users, they added.
