The company which organises the city's key events has put together a colorful cultural program offering for the summer months in collaboration with the local government.
According to an announcement by Győr Projekt on Monday, they have built on traditions, sometimes rethinking and expanding them, and have tried to put together a cavalcade of quality programs that are attractive to all generations.
The Summer Opening Concert will be held on June 14, with Thomas Anders performing with The Modern Talking Band at Dunakapu Square.
The third Győr Regional Military Band Festival will be held one day earlier, also hosted by Dunakapu Square.
The program begins with a parade of military bands, followed by professional demonstrations and concerts. The program series continues on June 27 and 28 with the Saint Ladislaus Days.
In addition to the sacred program elements, the family-friendly festival also features craft activities, petting zoos, themed games, traditional presentations, and an equestrian theater performance to help recall the era of the knight king.
The Győr Rotary Fröccsnapos (Froccs Days) will be held on July 18th and 19th this year, in collaboration with the Rotary Clubs of the country and organized by Győr Projekt, where the proceeds from the sale of fröccs and fatty bread will be donated to charitable causes.
Various musical programs will ensure a good atmosphere from early afternoon until late evening. The Baroque Wedding will be held this year on August 8th and 9th, when the city center is transformed into a colorful world of the Baroque era, evoking the atmosphere of the 18th century.
This key attraction of the series of events taking place on Széchenyi Square, Dunakapu Square, Baross Street and Radó Island sees a selected couple swearing eternal loyalty to each other in Baroque costumes.
In the second half of the month, between August 28th and 30th, the Győr Wine Days will be held at Széchenyi and Dunakapu Squares.
The Radó Matiné program series, which aims to reconnect Radó Island to the cultural life of Győr, began at the end of May and will run until September 28.
Colorful, diverse events and performers await visitors until autumn, and a cavalcade of all-arts will enliven the coastal area.
The summer program series will conclude with the Summer Closing Concert, which will be held on August 30th.
