Wizz Downgraded by Fitch for Poor Financial Performance and More
Fitch Ratings has downgraded Wizz Air’s long-term rating by one notch, from “BB+” to “BB”, citing a weak financial performance and elevated operational costs in its last financial year, the international credit-rating agency said.

The outlook on the revised rating is stable.

Fitch noted that the airline’s revenues rose 4% year-on-year to €5.3 billion for the financial year ending in March, but still fell short of market expectations and Fitch’s own €5.5 billion forecast.

The downgrade also reflects sustained cost pressures, particularly from aircraft grounded because of defective Pratt & Whitney engines.
