BBC to Revive Hungarian-Language News Service
The British Broadcasting Company is planning to reintroduce a Hungarian-language news service, similar to its recently launched Polish service, BBC News Polska, the broadcaster confirmed to Media1.

Currently, the BBC World Service operates in 43 languages worldwide.

Hungarian could soon join this list as part of the BBC’s ambition to expand its reach and provide independent, impartial news to more audiences.

The new Hungarian pilot service is expected to be announced later this year.

The move marks a revival of BBC’s Hungarian-language service, which was discontinued in 2005 along with several other Eastern European language services.
