II. Budapest International Film Festival, 25 October - 2 November
For nine days this autumn, Budapest welcomes film lovers to celebrate the best of international cinema. Following its successful debut last year, the Budapest International Film Festival (BIFF) returns for nine days of celebration — featuring nearly 40 films and more than 50 screenings at Corvin Cinema.

This year’s selection ranges from the Palme d’Or winner from Cannes and A24’s latest major release to an exclusive Hungarian series premiere.

The program includes audience and jury favorites from the world’s most prestigious festivals, bold new works by contemporary filmmakers, special screenings, and a retrospective section.

A brand-new international competition joins the lineup this year, dedicated to celebrating young filmmakers from around the globe.

Beyond the screenings, BIFF offers a vibrant array of parties, professional programs, director talks, the Robby Müller exhibition, and unique outdoor screenings across the city.

The festival programme will include films from other international festivals as well as "experimental works by contemporary makers". The festival's retrospective section will feature films "presenting the many aspects of the home and the controversial desire of coming home," the organisers' statement said.

The films will be screened in their original language, with Hungarian or English subtitles.
