Toll Payment System to Go Offline in Hungary Over New Year's Holiday
Hungary's toll payment system will go offline for a planned IT switchover for several hours over the New Year holiday, operator NUSZ said.

The system will not accept HU-GO top-ups for commercial vehicles between 11:15 in the evening on December 31 and 2:15 in the afternoon on January 1.

Payments for motorway vignettes will not be accepted on the website nemzetiutdíj.hu and at smaller resellers between 11:15 in the evening on December 31 and 7:15 in the morning on January 1.

Vignettes may still be purchased at the petrol stations of big chains and on the websites of resellers during the period.

NUSZ advised motorists to take into account the partial shutdown of the system and ensure their their HU-GO accounts are topped up and they are travelling with a valid vignette during the period.
