Hundreds gathered to stand for human rights, freedom of assembly, identity, free love, and acceptance.

The event was part of the Freedom of My Identity human rights festival, organised by the Pecs-based Diverse Youth Network, marking the final day of the week-long event.

The police-secured march began at 2pm from the central part of Uranvaros, a district once home to mining families.

The peaceful procession approached the city centre with a five-kilometre walk, entering the northern part of downtown Pecs and passing through the main pedestrian street, Kiraly Street, before reaching Kossuth Square, where a stage awaited the event’s speakers.

The organisers previously stated on the event’s Facebook page that recent events make it particularly important to stand for diversity and European values, as well as visibility.
