Special Security measures Revealed for Champions League Final in Budapest
Nearly 4,000 police officers will be on duty to ensure public safety on the day of Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final in Budapest, Zoltan Janos Kuczik, the deputy of the national police chief said on Tuesday.

Kuczik told a press conference that fans of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Arsenal have each purchased more than 17,000 tickets. Police information shows that further tens of thousands of fans are arriving in Budapest without tickets, he said.

Vilmos Szabo, the Hungarian Football Federation’s director of international and organisational affairs, said that in addition to the fan zone set up at Heroes’ Square and the Champions Festival events, two separate fan zones have been established for the supporters of the two teams.

Katalin Valentinyi, deputy CEO for corporate communications and government relations at Budapest Airport, said that from Friday through Sunday, they expect approximately 2,000 flight movements and 250,000 passengers, which is double the usual traffic.

As a result, Terminal 1 at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport will also be temporarily opened, and all flights from London, including commercial flights, will arrive at Terminal 1.
