Magyar Telekom, Yettel & One All Set to Hike Prices
Hungarian telcos Magyar Telekom, Yettel and One are raising their prices and applying a 4.4pc inflation-tracking fee adjustment, in accordance with the annual consumer price change calculated by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) for 2025, the companies told MTI on Thursday.

Magyar Telekom and Yettel will apply the fee adjustment from July 1 while One will raise its prices from September 1.

In April 2025 the country's biggest telcos had scrapped planned inflation-linked fee increases and pledged to keep retail rates unchanged for at least a year.

Magyar Telekom said for retail customers the adjustment will affect the monthly fees of home internet, TV and telephone packages, as well as mobile voice and internet packages introduced before December 31, 2025.

Home and mobile packages introduced in 2026 are not affected. For business customers, the fee adjustment applies to the monthly fees of mobile and landline services, if they were established before December 31, 2025.

One in 2026 will only apply inflation-tracking fee adjustments to retail mobile, fleet, and small business mobile and landline monthly fee services introduced before November 14, 2025.

The fee adjustment will be applied to the monthly subscription fee without discounts and will not affect monthly fee discounts.

The adjustment will not apply to additional monthly subscription fees, monthly fees for optional packages, and traffic fees.

At Yettel the changes affect the monthly fees of postpaid retail subscriptions.

The price of minutes and SMS fees in addition to the monthly fee, as well as additional data usage, will remain unchanged, and monthly discounts for each package will still be available.
