ZalaZONE to be Renationalised
The ZalaZONE automotive test track will be renationalised from July at the latest, an MP of the Tisza Party said on Facebook on Wednesday.

The ZalaZone is expected to be overseen by the Ministry of Science and Technology, although there is no final decision yet, Marta Nagy added.

Nagy consulted with Minister of Science and Technology Zoltan Tanacs, who visited the test track last week and met the ZalaZONE's professional management.

The test track was transferred by the former government to a public interest asset management foundation - known by its Hungarian acronym KEKVA, and based on regulations passed by the new government, it will be renationalised from July at the latest, Nagy said.

After the takeover, the ministry in charge of its professional management will conduct a thorough review of the companies of the ZalaZONE, its management, operation, utilisation and financing "since under the previous government, suspicions of inappropriate use of public funds arose in many similar large investment projects," the MP said.
