Postal Workers Died on Duty During Heatwave in Hungary
Prime Minister Peter Magyar has ordered an immediate investigation into the deaths of postal workers while on duty, he told a press conference in Budapest on Thursday.

Magyar said he was deeply shocked to learn of the incident, adding that Istvan Kapitany, the economy and energy minister, has contacted Magyar Posta, which said it had done everything to protect its employees, providing them with sunscreen, protective and cooling drinks, and rest and refreshment facilities.

The prime minister promised a more detailed update once the official investigation results are available but said he had so far been informed that the deaths of the postal workers "are not directly linked to the heatwave".

According to a statement published on Tuesday, two postal delivery workers died while on duty during a heatwave alert.

The report said Magyar Posta confirmed the information but would not provide further details until the investigation is completed.
