The Corinthia treated guests to an amazing voyage around world including culinary specialities, sights and sounds encountered by the intrepid Phileas Fogg and his loyal sidekick Passepartout, in the classic novel by Jules Verne
The evening included themed authentic decoration, live entertainment and food from all over the world - coinciding with the launch of the movie remake “Around the World in 80 Days” starring Jackie Chan. Quality local wines, beer and soft drinks flowed freely, and the event was a true delight.
As guests journeyed around the world, they were able to sample the delights of international cuisine including: Foie Gras, oysters and seafood from Europe; Chicken Tikka Masala and lamb Biriani from the Indian Subcontinent; Pad Thai and Red duck curry from the Far Eastern Rickshaw Restaurant; Sushi & sashimi from our Japanese Sushi Bar; Seafood Gumbo, Lobster Tacos and BBQ ribs from America and a range of desserts from all over the world.
At midnight guests celebrated the New Year with Champagne, singling and dancing, and then rounded of the occation with a traditional local feast of roast pig, lentils and stuffed cabbage.
