IWCA International Food Fest, German School In Budapest, Saturday 13 May 2006
This is one of those rare opportunities when practically the entire expat community, and our internationally-minded Hungary friends come together to enjoy an unbeatable variety of home-made authentic international treats," said Mary Lasseter, Fundraising Chair of The International Women's Club Association of Budapest (IWCA), describing this annual IWCA charity event.
Sharlene Helfgott, the energetic Event Coordinator this year, put together a delicious range of food offerings from many countries including:
Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, India/Pakistan, Korea, Netherlands, North America, Peru, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, and more.
As all the organisers had promised, it was "a fun-filled, family day out" at the German School (XII. Csipke u. 27), rounded off with a great raffle coordinated by Antonia Schwanner.
Many sponsors made the event such a success, including MoveOne with Camilla Zalka arranging 'Kids' Activities' including a bouncy castle and face-painting. Proceeds from this year's event will go, via the IWCA, to support orphanages, women's shelters, the Salvation Army and Mother Teresa's Soup Kitchen.
