Xpat Wine Club, Zwack Museum, 25 April 2008
A great group of Xpat Wine Lovers gathered to taste wines from: Légli Géza, Rókusfalbi Pál, Ráspi, Köpcös, Szászi Endre, Bock József, Dobogó Pincészet. Plus a special Zwack Maximilian 'The Spirit of Tokaj' tasting went down well, and guests ended the event feeling merry and in good spirits!
"This Spirit of Tokaj sets a new trend, a modern brand in every way. It's a distillate of the finest Tokaj wines, first created by Maximilian Zwack in 1912. Irretrievably lost in the upheaval of World War II, the recipe was only to be discovered decades later when the family was sifting through the attics of the Zwack distillery.
Spirit of Tokaj owes its elusive sweetness to the late harvest grapes of the Tokaj region and its fresh bouquet of flowers to the linden blossom through which it is filtered. Ageing in oak casks, this incomparable distillate then acquires body and harmony together with its velvety taste.
Zwack Maximilian Spirit of Tokaj is bottled by hand in the Zwack Palinka Distillery in Kecskemet. It should be consumed at room temperature, poured over ice or with soda water."
