Buborék Festival In Budapest, 25 - 28 July
As the sun sizzled, corks popped and the festival of bubbles took off on this Grand Prix of weekends. Building on the success of last year’s event still sparkling in people’s minds, the open-air festival of bubbles was here again, for four sun-soaked days.
This is the beginning of a new trend in Hungary. What was once considered a ceremonial beverage or celebration drink, champagne and other sparkling drinks now are being consumed on a more regular basis.
With 25 exhibitors, more than 100 bubbling beverages - including champagne, prosecco, “Strongbow”, and many varieties of sparkling wine- were represented.
During the festival, several Hungarian bands were performing to add to the celebration, and I am sure, that the winner and many from the Hungarian Grand Prix will be popping a few corks later on. There are few things that taste better on a hot summer’s sunny day!
