1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
I arrived in Hungary in June 2011 along with my husband and our loyal Jack Russell; Ellie.

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
We have spent a short time in France and I have worked with animals in both France and Spain.

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
The people, the language, and the ice cream – not necessarily in that order.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
Castle District and Heroe’s Square. Then hit some of the cool bars I have always heard about but no one has invited me to…yet.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Túrógombóc, and Hungarian ice cream of course.

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Hungarian White Wine.

7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?
Cannot choose between ‘paradicsom’ or ‘pitypang’.

8. What do you miss the most from home?
Cheddar cheese and Branston Pickle.

9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
I love what I do, as well as working with animals I am a professional writer. I am, at last, following my bliss.

10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
The one I used to have. Sitting in an office, working for somebody else’s retirement, and doing things that do not align with my ethics or passions.

11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
South of France.

12. Where do you hope to spend your next one?
As long as I am with my husband and my dog, I really don’t mind where I am.

13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
Oh dear, this could be embarrassing. I was a Toyah fan with a twist of Marc Almond. I loved most films and still do. I think as a teen my hobby was being miserable and awkward. I would have made a great ‘emo’.

14. What can't you resist?
White wine and sharp retorts. Sorry, but it’s true!

15. Red wine or white?
Already answered I think.

16. Book or movie?
I love both.

17. Morning person or night person?
Day person.

18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
Animal welfare.

19. Buda side or Pest side?
Buda, but only because my friend’s lovely family live there.

20. What would you say is your personal motto?
I am going to sound like a prat whatever I put here, but here goes:
‘Never, ever, ever give up’. Thanks Winston!
