Media Markt Takes Over Saturn Shops In Hungary

Shops of electronics retail chain Saturn will be closed and rebranded and integrated into the Media Markt chain, Napi Gazdaság reports. Both retail chains are owned by Germany’s Metro group.
Csongor Németh, head of Media Markt Saturn Holding Magyarország, said challenges in the current economic environment call for a more thorough and rational strategy.
He affirmed that the integration will not lead to job cuts nor hurt supplier relations.
Media Markt Saturn has operated 16 Media Markt and five Saturn shops since entering Hungary in 1997.
