I’ve been away from Budapest for the last two weeks. For the first time I went back to London to the annual gathering of all British Ambassadors from around the world. It was my first time there and so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But the week was really good.

The ‘With music for civil Europe’ project won the grant of the European Union in the frame of the Town Twinning Citizen Meeting in Active Citizens for Europe Action of Europe for Citizens Programme 2007-2013 in 2011. In the frame of the project four master courses of woodwind-brass instruments and piano-organ-string, and five concerts were held in Hungary in April and May 2012.

Ambassador Kounalakis presented Active Citizenship awards to Harman/Becker Automotive Systems and Brunswick Hungary for their support of community programs in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. With these awards, the U.S. Embassy is recognizing the importance of community social responsibility programs of American companies in Hungary.

We are a young choir with members from universities and high schools. Proudly can we state that we are the first Hungarian show choir and working on spreading this genre in the whole country. On our broad repertoire there are songs from musicals, movies, also we sing pop, rock, jazz, Hungarian songs, with our orchestra (piano, guitars, winds), or acapella.

"The artists who founded the Open Structures Art Society organized their first introductory exhibition in 2006 at the Vasarely Museum in Budapest. Three years later, a second exhibition was held at the same venue featuring new works and sketches by Society members, and supplemented by small graphics masterpieces selected from the Tamás Konok collection.
