The Bridging Europe arts festival will focus on German culture during its four-day programme starting on Sept. 10 this year. The festival organised for the second time by the Palace of Arts and the Budapest Festival Orchestra seeks to find connections between Hungarian culture and the cultures of other countries through music. The chief purpose of the exhibition conceived for the 150th anniversary of the artist’s birth is to give a comprehensive presentation of the museum’s own material of prints and drawings. As the earliest sheets in the Budapest collection are from 1892 the exhibition wishes to shed light upon the last decade of his oeuvre (1891–1901), characterised by lively lithographic activity.

The first marathon at the Palace of Arts in 2008 showcased the works of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The series of 11 concerts on a single day covered a cross-section of the great master's ouevre and exceeded all expectations with its unique theme and atmosphere. In the years that followed, the organisers put together marathon programmes of the work of Dvořák, Beethoven, Schubert, Mozart and Bartók.
