EGOM MEDHOTEL is building a 1.2-billion-forint four-star health hotel in Esztergom (N Hungary), one of the company’s staff told MTI. EGOM MEDHOTEL is converting an existing hotel in the city, not far from Budapest, and aims to attract guests in need of treatment from Austria, Slovakia and Western Europe, in addition to Hungarians, said Barbara Mihalovics.

Public works employees have built eight adobe homes in Gilánfalva, an exclusively Roma village in Baranya county, in what Interior Ministry undersecretary Péter Szabó described as a pilot project. The houses were built by 20 workers in less than four months with the help of architecture students from the University of Pécs, at a total cost of Ft 70 million.

The Spanish owner of the “High House” in Pécs must demolish it, Baranya county government office ordered. The demolition of Central Europe’s tallest out-of-use building must be started within six months of the ruling coming into force, and the estimated cost is Ft 1.5 billion. The weight of the rubble generated could reach 20,000 tons.

To assess the prospects for bank financing in the CEE real estate sector, KPMG surveyed 35 of the region’s leading banks.
