Szombathely, in western Hungary, will once again turn back the clock this summer as it hosts the 24th Savaria Historical Carnival from 21 to 24 August. The four-day event will see the city’s streets filled with Roman legions, medieval merchants, baroque nobles, and a host of other historical figures from across the centuries.

Seven venues, more than 9000 people in the audience and nearly 10,000 kilometers covered, spanning snow-capped mountaintops and sun-drenched Mediterranean towns.
