South Korea’s Samsung SDI will invest 100 billion forints (EUR 322m) in a plant in Göd, north of Budapest, to produce batteries for electric vehicles for European markets, Hungary’s minister for foreign affairs and trade announced. After serious competition from other countries in the region, the investment in Hungary will create 600 jobs, Péter Szijjártó said in Budapest.

The eFusion is the first all-electric carbon fibre plane in the world with aerobatic capabilities, hvg.hu reports. The two-seater sport and training aircraft, developed by Magnus Aircraft with the help of Siemens, successfully completed its maiden flight on April 11.

The Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) has published images of the first Solaris-Skoda trolley bus that has arrived to the capital, which will be followed by a fleet of further 20 single-unit and 16 articulated vehicles to serve District XIV and the city centre. The increased number of low-floor vehicles is meant to improve accessibility on the routes, BKK writes.
