This festival is organized in the most beautiful city of Balaton region, only 90 minutes drive from the capital, it is held in the middle of the summer, along with the spectacular Kékszalag (‘Blue Ribbon’) sailing contest. The side programs – stage programs, kids’ programs – are also free.
Hungarian Sailing Association To Organise 170 Competitions This Year

The Hungarian Sailing Association (MVSZ) is to organise close to 170 competitions this year, with the traditional season-opening race on Lake Balaton to be held on 16 May at the town of Balatonfüred on the northern shore, the Association said at its first press conference of the year. The largest Hungarian race, named Kékszalag or “Blue Ribbon”, will be launched for the 47th time on 2 July.

The statement also declared that: ”if any negative trend can be reversed, it must be reversed”. And that „the signatories will lobby for quality”.
