Anna Juhász is well-known in the Budapest arts community for her literary evenings at some of the city's most beautiful cafés and salons. In an era when so many people are talking about the demise of the book, Anna works tirelessly to help keep the tradition of literary salons very much alive because she believes, as do we, that the joy of literature is for everybody.

While the maxim "There's nothing much in Buda" holds some water, it usually pours out of the mouths of Pest-dwellers who get queezy every time they get too close to the river. This is a result of budaphobia, which sets in as soon as you start renting a flat in the fifth, sixth, seventh or eighth district. The budaphobe deletes all knowledge of Buda from the memory. They don’t know where Batthyány ...

I was born in a small town in the middle of Germany and after a short period when I was 16 in the far north of Germany, where I could not stand the weather and the flat land, I stayed pretty much put there (it was a nice place with lots of international students…) until I was 25 years old.

From the bike (or car) road to the right of Auchan (Jegtoro u.) just before the intersection with the Infopark, one can see buildings that, from afar, seem to be in the same style of those I discovered a few weeks ago further down the road as part of the old Obuda Gasworks Residential Estate. On my way back from my bike ride yesterday I explored the area, and was correct.
