The young French director’s feature debut, Lucie Borleteau’s FIDELIO, L'ODYSSÉE D'ALICE won the Breaking Waves Award at Titanic International Film Festival held between 10-18 April in five different venues in Budapest. The jury lead by Borislav Andjelic gave a Special Jury Mention to the Finnish director, J.-P. Valkepää’s They Have Escaped.

Besides the EDM superstars, organizers have now announced prominent names as Jason Derulo, Pusha T and Ludacris as well as several names for fans of house, tech house and minimal electronica. The 4+1 day party on the beach of Lake Balaton is held between 8-12 July in Zamárdi, Hungary.

Hungarian director Károly Mészáros’s first cinema film, the absurd romantic comedy Liza, The Fox-Fairy, has won the main prize and the award for the best visual effects at the thirty-fifth Fantasporto international film festival, held in Porto, Portugal. It is the first time in the festival’s 35-year history that the main prize, named Fastasporto Grand Prix, has gone to a Hungarian movie.

EU member states’ secret services and law enforcement bodies are currently keeping record of 2500 individuals who could potentially commit acts of terrorism, the Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet has reported. According to a 2014 Europol report, the first signs of the present wave of terror were observed by secret services and investigative organisations as early as 2011.
