A successful heart transplant was performed on a three-month-old baby at the National Cardiology Institute last Thursday, director general Péter Ofner announced on Monday. The 5kg baby boy is the youngest patient to receive a new heart in Hungary, he said, and is in a stable condition.

The lone exception was Regional Development Minister Sándor Fazekas, who is abroad. Other nominations are possible by 8 a.m. Friday, but none are expected.
