Media and communications authority NMHH yesterday announced plans for an auction of additional bandwidth for mobile phone operators next year. The aim is to boost mobile-phone coverage, as growth in mobile-internet usage is behind that of the EU average and the service is not accessible to 40% of the population, NMHH officials told on a conference.

Radio station Neo FM ceased broadcasting at midnight Friday, as owner Mihály Medveczky had announced in a morning broadcast. Medveczky later said that Neo will continue to broadcast as an online station but he could not guarantee keeping all of the staff.
