Eight bridges span the Danube in Budapest linking Buda and Pest, each with a fascinating tale to tell. The oldest is the famous Chain Bridge, which was opened for public traffic in 1849. Nowadays, each bridge has a totally different character and style.

The Vasarely Museum is located in a tranquil part of Budapest (Óbuda), on the banks of the Danube. It used to function as the storage building of the grand 18th-century Zichy Palace and was turned into a museum in 1987, after Victor Vasarely (Győző Vásárhelyi) donated a rich selection of his work to the Museum of Fine Arts.

The historic Water Tower is a spectacular attraction of the Margaret Island, rising above the crowns of the massive trees in the court of the Open-air Theatre. Open from June until the end of September, daily: 11am–10pm. On performance days, between 7pm–11pm only the audience of the theatre may visit the Water Tower, with presenting a valid ticket.
