South Korea’s Samsung SDI will invest 100 billion forints (EUR 322m) in a plant in Göd, north of Budapest, to produce batteries for electric vehicles for European markets, Hungary’s minister for foreign affairs and trade announced. The number of home building permits issued in Hungary in the first half of 2016 rose by 137.2% year-on-year to 13,236, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reports. The number of home building permits issued in Budapest rose by 190.5% to 3,745. In county seats and cities with over 50,000 residents, the number climbed 175.3% to 3,837.
