Traffic changes will be made in public transport service and on roads and Danube bridges on the eve and the day of St. Stephen’s Day (Tuesday, 19 August and Wednesday, 20 August 2014). The government is unlocking 150 billion forints for the procurement of 400-500 buses in the next few years, a government official said on Wednesday. Pal Volner, state secretary at the national development ministry, told a conference that the emphasis of vehicle renewal would be placed on public transport by road since the rail network only reached 26 percent of the country’s cities and towns.
