The race over the Danube in central Budapest was delayed due to rain and wind; on Saturday, the entire programme was cancelled. German Matthias Dolderer won the historic 70th Red Bull Air Race in Budapest Sunday, tightening his grip on the lead in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship by winning an abbreviated race due to extreme weather conditions. Hannes Arch of Austria claimed second, while Australia’s Matt Hall came third.

Hungary’s Foreign Ministry has asked Hungarians to exercise caution if travelling to Turkey after the bombing in Istanbul which claimed 36 lives and injured nearly 150 on Tuesday. The consular services of the ministry issued a notice on Wednesday in which it suggests that tourists check their travel arrangements as many flights are cancelled.
