Midor Seiler, the Japanese-Bavarian, world-famous artist comes to Budapest in October again to make music together with the Budapest Festival Orchestra at the Liszt Academy. What we can expect are compositions by the superstars of the 18th century (Antonio Vivaldi and Alessandro Scarlatti), Italian virtuosity and fire.

The CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival presents some of the greatest contemporary performers from Hungary and abroad, including Yann Tiersen, Hiromi, Plaid and the Southbank Gamelan Players, Squarepusher’s project band, Shobaleader One, Krzysztof Penderecki, Yellowjackets, the FAMILIE FLÖZ and Krisztián Gergye’s Company.

The Birth of Colours is a one-hour total-art performance with a 57-member mixed choir, four narrators, percussion instruments and singing bowls. The composer is the Italian Lucio Ivaldi, and the libretto was written by American poet David Brendan Hopes.

The Zemplén Festival in northeastern Hungary will celebrate its 25th anniversary, with a focus on classical music and jazz, between August 12 and 21. Some sixty events will be held at over thirty venues in nearly twenty towns and villages, festival director Miklós Turjányi told public news channel M1.
