Ladies and gentlemen, yes it’s that time of the year again when we eat and drink more than we should. This is the starting gun for the festive season. As much as we try, those extra kilos appear and those pounds/forints disappear. But this shouldn’t dampen our spirits and actually never does.

The CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival presents some of the greatest contemporary performers from Hungary and abroad, including Yann Tiersen, Hiromi, Plaid and the Southbank Gamelan Players, Squarepusher’s project band, Shobaleader One, Krzysztof Penderecki, Yellowjackets, the FAMILIE FLÖZ and Krisztián Gergye’s Company.

This year’s British Chamber of Commerce in Hungary Christmas Party, held at Old Banking Hall in the British Embassy on 15 December, turned out to be a worthy successor of the one in 2014, rightfully earning a place among the most successful chamber events of the year.

One of the prominent bands of the British indie scene, the Editors are preparing a new album. Their music that loosely melts together guitar sound with electronika will be featured on their upcoming fifth album which they are going to present on their tour in Budapest too at the Barba Negra Music Club.

By Liz Frommer: Last Thursday, April 23rd marked the re-inauguration of the Xpat Wine Club here in Budapest. Having been evidently sorely missed, the turnout was impressive, and Le Meridien’s Longitude Bar was well-filled by guests looking to get a taste or two (or seven to be exact) of exemplary Hungarian wines.
