The Hungarian Democratic Federation of Ukraine (UMDSZ) has voiced concern over partial army mobilisation and urged efforts for a peaceful resolution of the situation in Ukraine. UMDSZ in a statement called on Ukrainian authorities to draft employees of law-enforcement bodies and only recruit others on a voluntary basis.

The Ministry for Human resources donated twelve cars to Budapest street aid organizations on Friday to help social work and the supply of homeless people. Imre Nyitrai, Deputy State Secretary for Social Affairs said that the cars could even save lives.

Parliament’s justice committee has decided not to grant approval to applications by ten religious communities aimed at obtaining official church status. The committee said the applicants, including Evangelical communities, two Jewish groups, a Buddhist and a Baha’i organisation, did not meet preconditions concerning cooperation with the state.

Located on Gellert Hill overlooking Liberty Bridge, the Cave Church is a unique grotto chapel cared for by the Hungarian Paulite order of monks. Closed during the Communist period, it has since been reopened and offers a peaceful respite from the noise of the city. This cave was originally home to Saint Istvan, a hermit monk who cured the sick with thermal waters that sprung in front of the cave.
