The annual Jewish Cultural Festival will offer a wide selection of music and theatre in Budapest, Pécs and Szombathely between August 30 and September 6 this year. The organisers said that the 18th Jewish Cultural Festival will present klezmer, classical music, folk, jazz, rock and blues concerts as well as independent theatre performances.

The winner will be selected by readers of the magazine and announced at an awards ceremony on September 17. Musicians who were particularly successful in the past 12 years were nominated.

Budapest’s Metropolitan Grand Circus may have to say goodbye to its current location – adjacent to Budapest Zoo in the city’s largest park Városliget – under current plans. According to information obtained by cink.hu, the options of rebuilding the Grand Circus’s dilapidated building and erecting a new circus in a different location will both be discussed this month by the government.
