Master Plan For Budapest Olympics Approved By General Assembly Of Budapest

The General Assembly of Budapest has approved the master plan for the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Budapest, there were 21 votes in favour, 1 against and 9 absent. The assembly members have also accepted the guarantee letter to be submitted to the International Olympic Committee.

Budapest city council approved a long list of proposed venues for the 2024 Olympic games to be included in the official bid presentation. The chief venue would be a new 60,000-seat stadium for track and field events, to be built on Csepel Island, that could later be scaled down to 15,000 seats.

After touring in various countries around the world, the Kud Ljud team from Slovenia will be bringing Streetwalker Gallery, a guided walk and urban installation into the heart of Budapest.

Disaster Control offices received 1,600 reports of damage in Budapest and another 3,000 elsewhere in the wake of the storm that swept across Hungary yesterday. A house collapsed in Budapest, leaving injured people trapped under the rubble. Several trolleybuses and trams did not run as their overhead cables were damaged in the storm.
