Perhaps I haven’t spent enough time on the plight of the homeless in Hungary. The United Nations estimates the number of homeless people in Hungary at 30-35,000, of whom about 8,000 are in Budapest. Four New Products Added To Hungaricum List

Tuesday's meeting of the Hungaricum Committee in Székesfehérvár saw the addition of four new products to the list of Hungaricums: the Csaba sausage, goose liver products, Tokaji Aszú wine and Béres Drops dietary supplement preparation. The Committee also came to a decision on the winning design for the Hungaricum trademark.

Defense Attache Mark Karas and Cultural Affairs Officer Dmitri Tarakhovsky attended a ceremony honoring Mihaly Kovats on May 10, 2013 in Karcag. Colonel Kovats, a native of Karcag, recruited, trained and led the first U.S. cavalry unit into battle and died on May 11, 1779, in a cavalry charge against British troops outside of Charleston, South Carolina.
