Two Hungarian crew members died when their hotel ship crashed into a bridge on the Danube-Rhein-Main Channel in Bavaria early on Sunday. The two men, aged 33 and 49, had been staying at the wheelhouse of the ship, which was completely smashed in the collision.

The waste collection ship Tersus, designed to collect refuse from ships on the Danube, has begun operations, it was announced at a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday. Gábor Spányi, chief executive of Mahart PassNave, said the shipping company had spent €200,000 on implementing the project.
