Defense Attache Mark Karas and Cultural Affairs Officer Dmitri Tarakhovsky attended a ceremony honoring Mihaly Kovats on May 10, 2013 in Karcag. Colonel Kovats, a native of Karcag, recruited, trained and led the first U.S. cavalry unit into battle and died on May 11, 1779, in a cavalry charge against British troops outside of Charleston, South Carolina.

More information on the extra fares payable for travelling on fast trains was revealed by Development Ministry state secretary for infrastructure Pál Völner on Tuesday. A new development is that people aged under 6 and over 65 years of age, who are otherwise entitled to free rail travel, will only be able to use the affected trains if they buy a monthly pass for Ft 1,500.

In “Gesztenyés kert” and on the terrace of the chic Larus Restaurant, a wide variety of wines, red, white and especially rosés, was waiting for wine-lovers. They ranged from “natural”, ice, bio to more quality mainstream.
