Thousands Of Brokerage Jobs In Danger In Hungary

The jobs of some 3,700 employees in 229 companies linked to the bankrupt brokerages Buda-Cash and Hungária Értékpapír are in danger, corporate data provider Opten said in a report issued yesterday. The affected companies were also active in public procurement tenders and over the last three years secured Ft 2.5 billion in EU subsidies.

Police apprehended a man who attempted to rape a woman after forcing her into a van on Szerencs utca in the 15th District on Tuesday. After the assailant tore off half her dress, the woman managed to douse him with pepper spray and escape.

It only serves special interests, and it should be killed – by legislation or a referendum. The chorus of opposition to the Sunday closing law has mostly hit the same basic note: Forcing larger retailers to close on Sundays is bad for business and the economy.

Jobbik local councillor Tibor Ágoston was fined Ft 750,000 by a Debrecen court on Thursday for denial of the Holocaust. Failure to pay the fine will result in a jail sentence of 300 days.
